It's hot!

Down here in Florida it gets so hot!

Can anyone recommend a good jacket that provides protection but is not too hot? Maybe something I can see on www.newenough.com or another website. I tried on a jacket a couple of days ago and I was sweating in a couple of seconds. I want something that has armor but is not so hot.

Also, I wear about size Large clothes but I tried on a XL Tour Master jacket and it was tight. I am guessing these jackets are meant to fit tight…

Thanks!
Eric

You have to remember that once your moving you get air rushing through the jacket and that is what keeps you cool. I'm always hot when I'm in the house with all my gear on, even sitting at the stop sign, but once I'm moving I often wish I had put on an extra layer.
Look at the mesh jackets with abrasion resisitant textile fabric. Joe rocket has some nice stuff, so does fieldsheer. Both have CE approved armor, which complys with a European standard for safety. The fieldsheer stuff is a good price for entry level gear. If you hate it you won't be pissed because it wasn't the most expesive jacket.

Try some of these sites.

www.cyclegear.com www.bing.com www.ridegear. ... rbikes.com

I usually try not to have too much black on my summer jackets. I have the Icon tarmac jacket for the summer and it is great.

I hope I posted those sites right, it's my first time doing it.

If you want leather on the jacket look for a perforated jacket. I know that the Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 comes in a perforated version as does the Alpinestars Stunt.
