A slightly new take on a Gyrocopter.... 8)

Not much new there. Looks like a normal gyrocopter with the body removed.

The problem with this type of combination vehicle is that you can never get a practical ground vehicle that flies. The video showed this thing running on the ground, but only at the airport. Put that thing on a public street and you'll have problems. One thing is that ~70 inch unshrouded propeller that will slice up anything that gets near it. Another is the prop blast, which will blow things and people over if they get behind it.

The combined instablity of a trike configuration (with a high center of gravity) powered by a propellor will seriously limit its utility as a street vehicle. It will want to tip over every time you take a hard corner.

In the aviation world. the flying car/flying bike idea has been attempted constantly since the 1940s. Molt Taylor's Aerocar in the 1950s probably came closest to filling both air and ground requirements. Dozen's have tried since then, but none have equalled Molt's accomplishment. See it here :

Sure is a neat Car/Plane!

What about this little baby: http://www.moller.com/skycar/

Perhaps one day it will be completed :?

Moller has been taking people's money with this idea for decades. Unfortunately, unless the laws of physics are repealed, his flashy contraptions will never do much more than hover a few feet off the ground for the forseeable future.

That looks cool.

I've flown in Ultralights before but never gyrocopters. They're a ton of fun, anyone who likes motorcycling would probably get a kick out of it.

What we really need is a jetbike like the one in "The Island."

Awwwww hell yeah! I'd kill for one of those, even without the gun turret.
