8) Hola all my good ole' mates out in ethernet land!

Please forgive me if someone may have posted something along the lines of my question but I just thought i'd shoot it out there. Ok, I have a Triumph T-bird *sport* and i'm still a rather novice chap when it comes to bike maintenance. So, can someone give me some good info. about when I may need to tighten my chain? After a certain # of miles? I can't really eye-ball it because I don't know how loose is too loose! Perhaps there is a technique all you savvy cats use :p I posted a similar topic about "how do you tighten your chain?", however I have still not really gone forth because I don't even know if I should just yet :|

While I am at it, can someone tell me when I should change my oil on my bike?
o_ O yes i'm a nub lol Thank you.

Get a manual for your particular bike that way you have all the pertinent info.
When bike on center stand I check the slack of the chain on the bottom side mines approximate 1" (all bikes are slightly different hence the need for a manual). Don’t forget to keep well lubed.

What shotgun said: the spec's in the manual. That said, it's better to err (slightly) on the side of too loose than too tight.

If you can't find the manual, suggest you join and post this on the "Hinckley Classics" forum on the Triumphrat site: http://www.triumphrat.net/modules.php?o ... m&forum=14 Someone there can probably list out the spec for you.
