This just in on the radio...

(It's an April Fools Joke).

The government of British Columbia, Canada has introduced a Cell Phone use ban on using a cell phone while traveling over 30km/h.

As explained:

With GPS in cell phones they can track where a cell phone is, and at what speed it is traveling at. If the software detects your cell phone is traveling at a speed greater than 30km/h then your cell phone will cut out after 15 seconds of use.

911 (Emergency Number) is not affected by this ban.

Not sure how they will deal with passengers in cars/buses/trains using a cell phone over 30km/h, but this will only make it safer for motorcyclists in BC as car drivers will not be using a cell phone and driving at the same time.

What do you think?

Mike.

Sounds like an April Fools joke.

Whose gonna monitor all those phones? or pay for the equipment to be put into place?

Nah- don't buy it.
