Has anyone tried them? I want to know how well it would stick to a naked bike. No windsheild to take the wind off it makes me nervous. Thanks guys let me know.

I have a magnetic tank bag I use on my naked 1200 Bandit and have never had a problem.

There is a still enough pocket of air created by the instruments/bars and it has nowhere to go anyway because you sit right up against it.

I got one off Whytegryphon, and it held on up to 170kmh when the magnets are installed correctly. I accidently put two in backwards and had one side give out doing 140.... that just meant I needed to ride with my left elbow tucked tight to the tank till I could stop. It was a rather disconcerting feeling to realize it was letting loose.

Mine has a strap that runs around the steering head between the upper and lower triple clamp, so even if the magnets give out, it's still tied to the bike, just not held in place.

I have no real complaints other then it being a little small, and th damage it did to my paint Get a little sand or dust under there and it'll rub some dull spots into your paint with the vibrations. The problem with a tank bag is that it needs to touch your tank, LoL.

I'm currently looking around for a set of soft paniers to use in addition to it, maybe something will turn up.

I figure 2 nights worth of clothes into the tankbag, food into the paniers, strap a tent to my back, and tie my tent to the back. I'm gone for the weekend and hopefully having a blast.

I've got a Tecknic bag, the thing expands and is bloody huge. I can pack it with everything I need for a 2-3 day trip, street clothes, rain gear, azzwipe, everything..... and it never even hints a coming off, full or empty. You can't even really pull it off on purpose, you kinda have to peel the flaps up and off.

Thanks guys, i just wanted to see what you all said before i shell out the cash for one.

Yeah, I've made the aerostitch rounds, and have decided that though the gear looks nice it's too rich for my blood. I'm a weekend tourer which means I don't need the biggest and best, just the adequate. Besdies I'd rather be riding then packing. All it needs to hold is some hotdogs, buns and beer. Maybe some chips.

I have a Cortech "super-mini" magnetic tank bag for my naked CB750, probably about 2-3 liter capacity. Top quality materials and construction IMO. I use it for a USGI canteen, cellphone, rag, chewing gum, etc. Clear map pocket on top. I use it anytime I expect to be gone over an hour.

I've cruised with it at 85mph, it also has a strap "just in case" but I haven't used it yet. I would use the strap if I was planning on any seriously fast riding, but I don't do triple digit speeds. Soft rubbery bottom, I am very careful to wipe all the dust off the tank before putting it on, and don't ever put the bag down on a dirty surface, no marks yet on my black tank.

I just bought this one, it aint no expandable chin high contraption, but i think it will serve me just fine. Something to put a rain suit in and some other goodies. Plus the new map i just ordered will have a place to go now.

I saw a map made by this lady who lives and rides in north georgia. She made it to show the best roads for bikers and camp grounds and cabins around north GA and bordering states. Everything is written horizantally on the map to make it easier to read while in a tank bag.

I figured what the hell, im getting a bag with a map pocket so i guess i need a map!
