So is going from black-top to concrete going to "Draw Vacume" or what?? I know many hi ways that switch back and forth from black top to concrete and it makes me wonder how slippery it's going to feel. I'm also wondering which of the two are worse in the rain. I'm thinking maybe concrete is more slippery in the rain? Will my ZX-6R notice the difference or will it be all in my head.

concrete is typically the slicker of the two, when its wet. When dry both are pretty much the same

when riding in the wet just slow down, use less lean angle, and give yourself more distance to stop.

I was thinking that concrete was more slippery when wet. There are so many place I am looking forward to going on my bike this summer, it will be nice doing it on two wheels rather then in the car. I have gone over the route and road surfaces in my mind time and time again and so many roads switch back and forth so many times I began to think about it a lot. There were so many days that started out rainey last summer then changed to bright sun shine by early after noon. I will have to just ride in the rain and get used to it so I can enjoy the rest of the day on my 6R...

i hate riding in the rain and only had to a few times, anyway, i never had a problem on concrete dry... i guess i'm not a hardcore rider or something because i can't imagine riding in the rain, even with full rain gear on would be fun.

i rode in hail and thick fog yesterday, defnitely not fun.

rain's not so bad. it's not fun either and i read it's bad for the leather too but i just made sure i keep my lean angle minimal when im riding on wet surfaces.

I'm with you on that one. I've gotten stuck doing that and hail riding (only once for hail, and never again stupidest thing ever!) dozens of times, and while you get more comfortable each time it just isn't pleasant. I'm mainly a commuter with the bike, so I don't have any options for rain, if it really bothers you keep a good book with you at all times and get used to waiting.

I thought I heard that also, that rain was bad for leather. I would not have thought that, I thought leather was tough, what happens to the leather? So now I have to use the little space there is under the seat cowl to store rain gear? I understand about not leaning to far in the rain, it will have to be arm extension lean only and keep bike least lean as possible. I also bet that being in hail is not fun but tons of dangerous. You guys who been in that weather have some big ones !! LOL Your not kidding bring something to read and find shelter... I have allrady thought about ware all the over passes are in my area, I have passed many of them over the years in my travels. Here is a thought- you do not want to park along the curb in an overpass and chance getting hit right? and many of the ones I know of have sidewalks. So if you put bike up on sidewalk away from traffic is that going to get me a ticket for some kind of parking violation? Just a thought

Always have to laugh when I hear that. Don't cows get rained on ? They don't seem to have a problem with it.

I'm not fond of the rain at all. But i much prefer it to hail.... i'd say verm would agree with that.


Worst conditions ive ever rode through was some road mantinence, one of those still hot summer days and they were doing that road sweeper routine. about 6 miles of dust cloud. visibility about 75 feet. the road, me the bike, the tires, everything coated with a nice slick film. oh, and of course the loose gravel they managed to leave here and there. wheeee
