Keeping shoulder armor "up"

I just got my new Teknic Violator jacket in the mail ($51 + shipping from Ebay and it looks brand new...w00t!) and it fits almost perfectly. I say almost because the shoulder armor doesn't really cover my shoulders. I'm a bit of a tall skinny guy so I suppose if I were a bit wider it'd be fine, but the armor drops just barely below my shoulders, more on the side with nothing on top. Is there a decent way to rid the jacket so that the protectors will rest on my shoulders instead of next to them??

that's bad.

my jacket and 1pc are not skin tight but the armors are there where they should be.

you can try going to leather store that does alterations but it'll probably be not worth it if you didn't pay a lot for your jacket.

That's usually why you try them on before you buy them. You should return it and look for one that fits you better.

Altering the jacket will reduce it's ability to protect you in a crash.

I have the Teknic Lightning (the violators less expensive cousin). the armor stays in place just fine, but im not that skinny either. Seems that MC jackets tend to be designed for those with broader shoulders.

I have seen a number of skinny guys who have problems with shoulder armor not being on their shoulders.

I'm skinny, but I have the shoulders to support my guns. Who wants two tickets to the gun show? Yeah, be jealous

Yeah, I suppose BB guns still count as guns

Normally I'd try on something before I buy, but the deal was too good to pass up. It's actually a size larger than I usually wear, but I heard that Teknic sizes their stuff a little small. I tried on an AGV Sport jacket at a local shop and a 44 was close to the right size (although the chest area seemed much too large. The Teknic is a 46 and fits great everywhere but the shoulders. Hrm...could I stuff something softer at the bottom of the armor pocket to keep them lifted up a little bit, or would that not work?

Ok, I'll admit not the biggest arms. But I rock climb alot and last weekend I was doing a community service project and their drills wouldn't stay charged long enough. I put about 200 screws in by hand. My forearms are like popeyes now. Gugugugugugu

Laugh at the guy who likes to wear spandex then roll around and grapple with other similarly outfitted men.
