Wiring full-face for communication system?

So i've got my new Shoei X-Eleven and I'm in the middle of installing my new Starcom1 Advance communication system. Got it wired to the bike, and i've got my speakers and microphone in place in the helmet. But I have no idea what you are supposed to do with the main line that comes out of helmet. The thin separate wires from each speaker and the microphone all come together into a single thick wire with the connector on the end that plugs into the coiled extension attached to the Starcom1 unit. That thick lead that comes out of the helmet is about 12" long right now. Is that normal? And where should i have this lead exit the helmet.... towards the front, on the side, towards the back? And what do you do with this lead when you are riding solo or whatever and you don't need to hook into the starcom1?

Until i started wiring this stuff in the helmet, i didn't realize how space is maximized in those things. The speakers are fairly thin but i can feel them against my ears. And luckily the inside of the chin bar of the X-11 has a vent thing that I was able to cut into to in-set the microphone. If not, I would have been sucking on it the whole time. If i pucker up inside my helmet I can kiss the chin bar, so there is normally no room for a ball shaped microphone.

Thanks!

ummmm... a pic of what? my partially wired helmet?

I was kind of hoping for a pic or explanation from someone else who has a starcom1 (or similiar) wired full face helmet. :) Just wondering if I'm going about this the right way since the pics in the instructions don't really show much.
