It’s powered by a brushless electric motor that is rated at 5.0 kW with a max rating of 9.0 kW (with e-boost). This clean and quiet power unit produces strong low-end power with a quick throttle response. The motor is powered by removable dual lithium-ion batteries with a nominal voltage of 50.4V, which use a parallel arrangement that allows one-battery operation (in ECO mode) if one battery needs to be isolated or becomes fully discharged before the other. Thanks to the regenerative system, the energy of deceleration is recycled back to the battery, contributing to a longer cruising range. The battery packs can be removed to be charged away from the motorcycle, or you can plug the charger directly into the motorcycle in a dry environment via the pre-installed offboard charging adapter. The charging time is approximately 3.7 hours per battery for a full charge and 1.6 hours for a partial charge.
In addition to normal operation (ROAD mode), riders may also choose speed-limited operation (ECO mode). Top speed is 52 mph in ROAD mode and 37 mph in ECO mode. For added excitement and accelerations, an e-boost function allows riders to tap into increased power for stronger acceleration and a higher top speed for up to 15 seconds. The e-boost is limited to 15 seconds to maximize range and manage battery temperature. When e-boost is activated on the Ninja e-1, top speed is increased from approximately 52 mph to approximately 65 mph in ROAD mode and from approximately 37 mph to 45 mph in ECO mode. WALK mode conveniently assists riders with maneuvering their Ninja e-1 motorcycle both forward and in reverse in parking lots and driveways.
2027 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R ABS Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits
The Ninja e-1 features a lightweight trellis frame that is similar in design to that found on Kawasaki’s flagship Ninja® models and relies on Kawasaki’s advanced dynamic rigidity analysis to achieve optimum rigidity and light weight. The front end is supported by 41mm telescopic front forks that produce excellent suspension action and plushness on par with larger-class machines. On the rear, Uni-Trak® suspension provides strong road-holding ability as well as bump absorption. Stopping the quick-accelerating Ninja e-1 is a large 290mm front disc that is gripped by a dual-piston caliper, while a 220mm disc is used on the rear. A compact and lightweight Nissin ABS control unit comes as standard equipment, delivering precise control. Full-size 17-inch wheels further contribute to the light, nimble handling, while their sport design reflects the Ninja e-1’s agile performance.
A relaxed rider triangle accommodates a wide range of rider sizes and riding styles and features a relatively upright riding position and slightly foot-forward footpeg position. The Ninja e-1 features aggressive, full-fairing bodywork that is sure to catch the eye and give the impression of a fierce machine. That impression is reinforced by a high-class design and unmatched fit and finish that is comparable to bikes in a larger-displacement class. The cockpit of the Ninja e-1 features a 4.3” all-digital TFT color instrumentation for a high-grade appearance. Bluetooth® technology built into the instrument panel enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly via RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE* and access a number of instrument functions.
GREEN POWER
A KAWASAKI FIRST
Kawasaki’s full-size EV motorcycle is here and ready to take the streets by storm. The Ninja® e-1 ABS delivers thrills with clean EV power and quiet operation. This EV sportbike is powered by a rider-friendly electric motor with rider-selectable Power Modes.
Zero Emissions

Along with generating zero emissions, the compact fully electric motor delivers an enjoyable riding experience with quiet operation. Maintenance has never been easier as this EV bike requires zero oil changes.
Friendly Power
Built to embody the Ninja® lineage, the Ninja® e-1 ABS is a full-size EV motorcycle powered by a quiet, compact brushless electric motor offering excellent response and torque for around town riding. You can confidently control power output with clutch-less operation that contributes to a rider-friendly package.
Powerful e-bost
Along with smooth power delivery, you can enjoy a burst of increased power for approximately 15 seconds at a time with e-boost. When all conditions have been met, the e-boost feature briefly provides a burst of stronger acceleration and increased top speed to confidently surge through traffic or quickly accelerate up to speed from a stop.
WALK/Reverse Modes
The Ninja® e-1 ABS EV motorcycle provides easy parking and low-speed maneuvering with WALK Mode. WALK Mode assists maneuvering when reversing or moving forward at a walking pace. To move forward (3 mph), you can push the WALK Mode button and twist the throttle in the normal direction. When reversing (1 mph), you can push the WALK Mode button and close the throttle past the “zero” point.
RIDING MODES
The Ninja® e-1 ABS EV motorcycle is powered by dual removable battery packs. When both battery packs are charged and in use, the power system can be set to ROAD or ECO mode. ROAD mode produces full power capability and potential to reach max top speed. ECO mode reduces max power and max top speed. If only 1 battery pack is in use, then performance level defaults to ECO mode.

BATTERY PACKS
DUAL BATTERY PACKS
The Ninja® e-1 ABS EV motorcycle is powered by 2 removable lithium-ion battery packs and a compact brushless electric motor. That provides the power for responsive performance without the weight and inertia of an internal combustion engine. Whether you’re commuting to work or enjoying a fun ride around town, get where you need to go with clean EV power.
Easy Recharge
Thanks to the regenerative system, the energy of deceleration is recycled back to the battery, contributing to a longer cruising range. You have 3 options when it comes time to charge the 2 battery packs. The battery packs can be removed to be charged away from the motorcycle, either by direct charge or by a charging dock in a different location, or you can plug the charger directly into the motorcycle in a dry environment via the offboard charging adapter.
The offboard charging adapter is pre-installed on the motorcycle as standard equipment. A single charger is included with the motorcycle and can charge 1 battery at a time. The charger can be plugged into a standard 120V household outlet.
Charging Times
Each battery pack features a charge indicator so you can gauge how much battery life is left. Charging times may vary based on remaining battery life. If battery life is at 0%, it can take up to approximately 4 hours (per battery) to fully charge. If battery life is above 20%, it can take up to approximately 2 hours (per battery) to reach a full charge.
Ways to Charge
The offboard charging adapter allows you to conveniently charge both batteries at the same time without having to remove the batteries. Charging time is up to approximately 8 hours (0-100%) for both batteries.
The direct charge option involves plugging the included charger directly into a removed battery. Charging time for 1 battery is up to approximately 4 hours (for a full charge from 0%). An additional charger can be purchased (as an accessory) so that the second battery can stay in the motorcycle and be charged simultaneously via the offboard charging adapter. Charging time for 1 battery via the offboard charging adapter is up to approximately 4 hours (for a full charge from 0%).
Additional chargers and charging docks are available as accessory items to help you set up a clutter free charging station. Charging time via charging dock is equivalent to charging via direct charge.
