2011 Husqvarna CR65 Review

With the new CR65 Husqvarna enters further into the world of competitive minicross.Husqvarna joined the market in early 2010 with the automatic CR50, a minicross for thosejust starting their off road racing career; with the CR65 Husqvarna has decided to competeright from the first true bike a young off-roader rides.

Liquid-cooled engine, 6 speed gearbox, 14’/12′ wheels, hydraulic clutch, Mikuni 24 mmcarburettor, reed valves… a true competition bike.

The chassis replicates the larger Husqvarna models, with circular and oval cross-sectionsteel main frame tubing combined with an alloy rear sub frame. The rear swing arm is alsoalloy, to which the rear suspension linkage is mounted.

Front suspension consists of 35mm USD Marzocchi forks with rebound and compressiondamping adjustment helping to control the 220mm of travel, whilst the rear shockabsorber is a Sachs, with compression and rebound damping adjustment. The rearsuspension allows for 270mm of wheel travel.

The front brake is a 4-piston calliper acting on a 200mm ‘wavy’ disc, ensuring powerful but controllable braking. The rear brake is a 165mm fixed disc with 2-piston calliper.

The aesthetic design is the most revolutionary feature of the CR 65. It is absolutelyfuturistic, with dashing, modern lines replicating the look of the new Husqvarna 449/511series.

All components on the CR65 also reflect its quality ethic: wide footrest lugs, taperedhandlebars, Pirelli tyres and alloy hubs. It weighs in at only Kg 55 on the kerb, without fuel.
