I like the idea of those bikers helping to shield the people from the protestors.

I really don't like the whole "mightier-than-thou" ideal to begin with; and I really think they picked a completely inappropriate way of showing what they 'believe'.

im with ya. I think they are wrong to begin with. But if they want to voice their opions and such there are much better places to do so.

Fred Phelps is a terrorist. Glad to see people making him look like the psychotic whackjob that he is.

Would not suprise me if there was a chapter of the patriot gaurd in wyoming. Wyoming has been Phelps favorite target for years. He holds protests several times a year on the grounds of the state capitol.

His protest last year was REAL popular, he was facing the catholic school that is next door to the capitol and telling the parents that were there picking up their children that they should kill their children (ala Andrea Yates).

It makes my heart happy to see a positive motorcycle related story.
but...
That Phelps guy is whack. That's obvious. He must be pretty far to the right when he's railing against the families of military victims.

Hopefully legislation in conjunction with the gang will help. I roll my eyes whenever I hear the words "they're protecting our freedom" but ANYone who jeers at ANY death in my opinion is commiting one of the worst crimes possible.

Jeez, this Phelps guy makes me so ill. He and his fellow nut jobs disrupted a funeral very near me. Sometimes I hate freedom of speech, I hope that laws get passed to prevent so few people from causing so much trouble.

I have been making out a little mental list for years now. If I ever go nuts one day and start taking out people, the people on my list go first. These people have moved up past boy bands on the list.

Phelps is the very same whackjob that was protesting outside the Albany county courthouse during the trial of the guys that murdered Matthew Shepard.

Since then he has made Wyoming one of his favorite places to hold protests

That guy is a real sackashit. I hope those bikers start showing up at his family tragedies and protesting his right to exist at the most hurtful time possible.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, a daughter of Fred Phelps and an attorney for the Topeka, Kan.-based church, said neither state laws nor the Patriot Guard can silence their message that God killed the soldiers because they fought for a country that embraces homosexuals.

"The scriptures are crystal clear that when God sets out to punish a nation, it is with the sword. An IED is just a broken-up sword," Phelps-Roper said. "Since that is his weapon of choice, our forum of choice has got to be a dead soldier's funeral."

This stuff freaks me out completely, has the whole world gone mad. If I had to go to a funeral of a family member killed in action, I think I would like some protection from fellow bikers. Not for my safety but to stop me doing harm to the protesters.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now

I hate to say it, but once again here is another man taking the word of God into his own definition. Every time man defines what God means it is trouble. IMHO the whole problem starts with man thinking it was a good idea to write a book about what God wanted. Since then men have been able to refer to this book and use it to forward man's agenda. God is love, and I pray for those who are so confused they think God wants someone dead for vengance. If it's time to go, it's time to go, but I think the whole "smite" business is something on man's mind, not God.
