Thanks for all the feedback The R1200GS and the Vstrom are lookin like they would be ideal (although the 1200 has a hefty pricetag). Also i'll look into Horizons Unlimited.

Well, it's not for a few years that i'm planning my adventure, but if it were right now, i'd be looking for a bike that i could take on a monstrous road trip.... and i mean monstrous, that is capable off-road decently (nothing hardcore, mostly used on roads) yet does not become too uncomfortable ...

I've found myself a '95 katana 600gsx f for $2300 Canadian ;) Which is around $1950 US. It has 19,2xx kms (12,000 miles?)

It just had a full inspection and everything's in great running order. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow evening
so it's mine so long as I like how it fits :)
