About the fuel pump, what would make the fuel pump not come on by itself. The pump is good, is there a relay inside the tank that could be bad or something? I tried chasing the 3 wires that connected to the pump, it looks like they go to the ignition, but I don't know.

95 YZF600R Issues

For some reason my fuel pump wont come on by itself when I turn on the bike. I had to hotwire the fuel pump to my battery with a switch so now it stays on all the time when I'm riding, but I'd rather have it come on on its own if possible. Any ideas?

I'm 19, and got quoted at progressive for $33.23/month for minimum Bodily/Property and Uninsured and $5k medical. Not bad for having no motorcycle experience. My bike is a 95 Yamaha YZF 600R.

New development. Ok, I re-cleaned my carbs and put brand new jets and needles into the thing. Now I can give it gas without it dying while choked, but I still can't get it off of choke without it dying. I didn't let it warm up very long though (>10mins), it was late and we have neighbors. So I'll ...

mmmm, you could use a spark plug light...you put it in place of the spark plug there on your s.p wire.

Or, you could just unscrew the plug from the engine, but plugged into the wire and crank it over

I'm not looking for a spark, I know I have spark. I think #1 may not be getting enough ...

haha, yea. It did seem like the #1 pipe was much less warm than the others though. The spit just rolled off of the #2-4 pipes and dried itself instantly, whereas the spit on the #1 pipe didn't even give much of a sizzle. It's disgusting, but I think it works.

Are all of my cylinders firing?

I was wondering what the best way to check and make sure all four of my cylinders are firing. A friend of mine thinks that one of them is not. What he did was spit on each of the four pipes of the manifold. One of them DID seem less hot then the others. This is referring to the same bike as my ...

Let me see, I can twist the throttle a bit and raise the rpms a couple hundred, I can even get it to the spot where you can hear the engine about to die, let off and let it idle back down. So I can give it a BIT of gas before I hit the spot where it dies. If that makes any sense.
