Both bikes I was looking at were trade-ins. Thanks, for the non-commital advice lol. I think I'm gonna go with the SV650, but no fairing for me heh. I just wanted to see if the guy was being at all honest lol since he is a salesman and all.

SV650 or GS500

I'm looking to buy a bike soon, and I wanted to find out how much of what the salesman at my local dealer said was at all true. This will be my first bike, and I am taking a MSF course which and it actually covers more than the average ones because it also is NYS DMV certified to give us our ...

Usually you have to pry the truth out of a salesman (I should know, I'm selling cellphones to make the money to buy my bike lmao). I work at a cingular store and depending on what a customer says about the phone they want we completely change which phones we say are best and all of that. In the end ...

I saw a review of the new Gixxer, and it said its lower and smaller than most of the sport bikes (that its better for short riders.) I'm not sure its low enough for you, but it might be something to look at.

***edit*** I just looked at the short bikes list, and there are no sportbikes that come ...

(total newb question) What does "Flickable" mean?

I just wanted to know what this slang meant. I've been seeing it a lot in the forums, and it isn't in the "Motorcycling Dictionary" here, so if someone could enlighten this newb please, it would be greatly appreciated.

It is in the sport bike category, but its such a small engine that the insurance premiums usually aren't very high. To be honest, you can insure a Ninja 500 for less than 150 a month at age 18 (thats what I'm looking at right now, but I might go for a 250CC instead), and the 250's insurance is ...

You could also get a Ninja 250R for a pretty good price, and it would be nice and sporty if you ever got a chance to use that, and if sportbikes aren't your thing, Kawasaki also makes a very affordable dirt bike, the KLX110 (MSRP is $1699), and a dual sport bike, the KLR250 which you would have to ...

Cruiser, Streetbike, or Sportbike

I've been trying to decide on what kind of bike to get as my first bike. I've been mostly considering the Kawasaki Ninja but before that I was really thinking about getting a cruiser. Now I'm having some doubts as to what type to get. I plan on taking a MSF so I should get some experience on a bike ...

Depending on what colors I go with (what color my bike is... if I get a 500R they only come in green as far as I know but theres a blue 1995 Ninja 500 in my area) I may go with joe rocket. I prefer to have some bright colors (so that I might have a chance at being seen by cagers). Thanks again for ...

Yeah, that definately sounds like they're junkers. I've been scouring my local paper and I've seen a few things like this and to me they look just like that $1 corvette thats always advertised in the autos section (not joking, this guy keeps posting a corvette for 1 USD in Newsday lol).
