After 38 years of NOT riding (much), I jumped back into the biker scene in July, 2005, on an '04 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100. After about nine months and 10,000 miles, I jumped again, this time to an '01 Honda ST1100. :shock: I've put about 7,000 miles on it. It can get me into a LOT more trouble than ...

Kansas Riders - let's do some riding. Anyone in the northeast part of the state?? Heck - who cares? Anything east of Salina (or Hays? or Great Bend?) or northeast of Wichita? :shock:

Identify yourselves so we can figure out who can ride where with whom. :wink:

From one "retread" to another, welcome back to the great and wonderful world of bikes, Bogey. I had a 38 year "gap in service", but it's coming back to me.

If you have one available in your area, I would certainly recommend the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider course. Even though I ...

Halleluya!! Home at last - and the trip north was a vast improvement over the southbound leg (not counting the temperature). :D

Instead of the headwind, I had a tailwind for the most part. I was amazed at the difference just the wind made. Wow! I think I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't ...

Wind resistance ??? or what??

Last Monday (2-13-06), I left home (KC area) for Corpus Christi, TX, in 18 degree weather and bucking a 20-30mph headwind. I was riding solo and carrying about 50lbs of gear on the buddy seat and luggage rack (Honda Shadow Spirit 1100). I stopped for gas about every 70-80 miles because after the ...

Lovinit;

What's this "riding season" stuff. I was out all day today. Ya gotta dress for it, but it's still fun.

I'm about to launch into a trip to Corpus Christi which will be my first really looooong ride ( about 1K miles each way). When I get back, I'll give ya a holler and we can plan a get ...

Kansas

Hey, I know you're out there. All you Kansas riders - let's figure out a time and place to get together - maybe after the weather gets a little warmer. BUT - let's do it. :D

FWIW - I live about 30 SW of KC, but being retired, I'll go just about anywhere anytime - so somebody make a suggestion. 8)
