Lemmee run something past y'all (looking at used bike)...

So, this kid has a bike up for sale. He's asking $2k under KKB values, and right at NADA value for a "poor" condition. I looked at it (well-me, BF, some biker friends, etc.) It's got some rust on the chrome pieces (likely not dried after being in the rain), previous owner took the rear turn signals ...

Sigh...I went to the doctor today. My shoulder has ben bugging me for about 2 months, and as soon as I started to wind down after the MSF course, it was really hurting. It appears as though I have managed to get a torn rotator cuff. I have an MRI next week. Which means no riding for now. And I just ...

Intermediate course? Very cool. i remember getting my MSF graduation and license. It was awesome. I guess not every state has the intermediate course  In SC, the BRC only qualifies for the insurance discount. There's no license waiver. The IRC is the classroom portion plus the second day of r...

MWahahahaaa-Just passed the MSF IRC

Just like the topic says, I passed the Intermediate Rider Course today. I get my full license once I get to the DMV on Monday.

I've been following the thread, and just wanted to add my own little pat on the back.... I changed up my routine after being stuck at the same weight for months. I now get up at 5 a.m. every morning and get to the gym before work (Monday through Friday). An hour of cardio and an hour of weight train...

I have the First Gear Rainman pants. They seem to be holding up well. I've had them out a few times since I got them, and my header tends to get pretty hot. Plus, they fold up into their own storage bag.

I started a new daily schedule-getting my fat butt up at 5:30 a.m. to go to the gym. An hour of cardio, and doubled the weight sets plus added weight. And then I got really hungry - every. two. hours I had to eat something. I was so hungry by 11:30 that I slammed my lunch down. And still managed a f...

Well I have taken the motorcycle class and I have most of my gear. My husband said that it is going be alot different then the class with cars around. The Savage is an evil machine for long distances. It is a fun, simple bike that is light and narrow and fantastic for around town and shorter trips. But I am not woman enough to ride a Savage across the state much less the country, I think SCGurl is being very smart. It would just hurt no matter ho...

Kinda OT: coffee_brake, thanks for the gel glove/throttle lock suggestion! The gel gloves actually helped me to relax my hands and arms a bit more, as I think I was gripping too hard due to the vibrations (feeling like I would lose my grip). I had to wait for the weather to clear enough to get out f...

Hehehe...I'm the one who owns the bike. He's the one who always asks to ride my bike. In fact, he tries to sucker me into it by preemptively maintaining the bike for me (as in, I set up the bike to wash it-he sneaks behind me with the hose in hand  ). He really needs to get his own dadgum ...

Man, I wanna go-but I'm in the same boat as MZ. I'm still a newb. And the vibrations above 60MPH are a killer on the S40. Heck, I haven't even taken the road test yet for my full license. That is coming up shortly though. And BF is doing the same freak out thing about me riding that far solo. Althou...

Re: Question for MSF RiderCoaches about IRC and ERC

Yep, I took (and passed) the BRC back in July. I highlighted the waiver parts below. As far as I know, the DMV can ask you to take the road test within 2 years if you get a waiver. They use the term "may" because not all DMV branches are on the same page about this; let's just say we have a less-tha...

I just saw that...I was wondering if you rented from Lowcountry or MB (same owner, different rates). My "ride just to ride" days usually take me down to Savannah or Hilton Head and back. Of course, now we're back in the 40's and 50's during the day. GRRRRRR. Come on down! We've had GREAT riding weat...

Question for MSF RiderCoaches about IRC and ERC

My state might be just weird, but we don't get a license waiver for BRC completion. We have to take either the Intermediate course or the Experienced course. The problem is, I haven't been able to find much information on what each course covers to know which of the two to take. From the description...

The miscellaneous: I got sheepskin slippers from Argentina, a new roasting pan, several pairs of socks (because I had been joking that all I was getting for Christmas were socks-they're nice ones though  ), lots of candy and chocolate. The fun stuff: The BF got me a pink HD scrunchie, a pair o...

Hi there! I too, have had the same issues with gear (I wear a waaay bigger size than you), and this is what I have found.... Harley's womens gear is sized really well for BBWs. I fit into their women's 3X, but usually go with men's sizes for a little more length (long legs and long torso). If the pr...
