MWahahahaaa-Just passed the MSF IRC
Just like the topic says, I passed the Intermediate Rider Course today. I get my full license once I get to the DMV on Monday.

I guess not every state has the intermediate courseRhadamYgg wrote:Intermediate course? Very cool. i remember getting my MSF graduation and license. It was awesome.

In SC, the BRC only qualifies for the insurance discount. There's no license waiver. The IRC is the classroom portion plus the second day of riding from the BRC, and you ride your own bike. The ERC is a one day course (have to have taken either the BRC or the IRC) and the exercises are the same except the cornering exercises, plus you can have a passenger. The IRC and the ERC has the license waiver if you pass the course.
According to our coaches, the ERC here is geared toward those in the military who need to have periodic refresher courses. But of course, anyone can take it.
Technically, I could have taken the ERC (which I didn't realize), but I liked having the review. I picked up on a few things the coaches were saying that wasn't expounded on in the book that I found helpful.
Having said all of that, I got an email from the C-2 coach this morning congratulating me (he also coached the BRC that I took) and told me I was "sick out there"

Ya, I'm excited and babbling 'cause the DMV isn't open yet and I'm sitting here with my jacket on and my helmet in hand waiting for 9 a.m.

yeah, that's not the system in NC. there's the BRC with their bikes and it's three days. passing the brc and the written test at dmv gives you your M endorsement. only thing i know about the ERC is that you use your own bike and i believe they make the box smaller.
congrats. and i know the feeling. i passed my brc and went into dmv all happy to get my license. by accident, the instructors wrote the wrong date on the card so i had to wait a few days for the card to be valid. killed me.
now, three years later, i got a new bike on friday but i'm waiting on the title to come from the lean co. so i can get all the paper work done. again, i have a bike i can't ride.
