Where can I find fuel petcock? ('83 montesa)

#1 Unread post by sl3196 »

Been looking all over the place for one. It's a 1983 Montesa 175cc (Cota 200). The fuel petcock is leaking and I'm in need of a new one. Any ideas where to find one or a way to fix mine? Thanks!

Chances of finding a Montesa Cota in a wreckers here in N.A. are pretty dam slim. If E-bay can't help you, you may be stuck with buying from a specialty supplier on-line or something. Trails bikes of any make are hard to find here, parts will be about as easy to find. Maybe someone like Pingle could help....http://www.pingelonline.com/fuel_valves.htm

If the 'footprint' of the gasket area and srewhole spacing are the same, you could use an old petcock from a used MX bike, but determining that will require some direct, hands-on comparison in a scrapyard....
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Thanks for the links guys. I think it would be wise to buy a new one since a used one may have the same problem.

I did find this site and sent them an email to make sure it will fit.
