1980 Honda CM400E Oil Drain Plug

#1 Unread post by chaliceflaming »

Greetings Everyone!

Just picked up a used 1980 Honda CM400E. Went to change the oil and can't seem to find the oil drain plug, it's not where the Clymer Manual would suggest it might be. Anyone have any tips as to where to look?

Thanks!
Jeff

Look for a 17mm bolt. Usually on the front left side of the engine or middle bottom of engine. Sometimes on the very front of the engine. I guess what I am saying is all I know is that it should be a 17mm bolt :)

Thanks for the tip CORSCO, I kept looking and was able to locate it just below the oil filter cover. What was throwing me off was the fact that the bolt faced out instead of down, which is what I had assumed (learn something new every day I guess).
