However, I have no idea how he would find the loophole to carry a different gun. The Beretta M9 has proven its worth, he should be okay with it.
Not always. My friend aaron is a marine. He get's his M16 and that's it. He got himself a 9" ka-bar knife for backup. He said some guys get handguns sent to them by friends and family though. He also said some guys shove machetes between their back and flack jacket as a back up. I myself would go with the tried and true Model 1911 Colt .45.

my kimber is the new and improved version of the 1911 colt. at least that's what the guys at the firing range told me and they are not affiliated w/ kimber.

the other gun i might buy in the future is a smith & wesson .357 magnum w/ the 8 inch barrel or maybe the .44 but defintely not the .50...

Never done that one--but a Ruger SP101 .357 with 180 grain Hydra-Shok will rock your world a little bit.

This country was built on private ownership of guns. Everyone should exercise their 2nd ammendment right at some point or another. Do you trust the government to protect you and your family, or yourself as your own sworn duty?
I'll take my own protection into my own hands. Not to start a debate or anything here.
Hey , I'm one of those left wing liberals and I absolutely don't think guns should be banned . As a matter of fact I am in completely agreement with you . My Spousette and I own 6 hand guns between us as well as a rifle and 2 shot guns .
And several swords and a vast knife collection as well .

I've been thinking a Savage Arms .243 scoped. Told it's good at small game, but the right load will take down a deer. Though i'm really wanting it just for plinking, and want something other than a .22 lr. Eventually i want hand gun of some sort, preferably (based off) a colt .45.

Sabage makes good guns, but if you can afford it, get a remmington, cant go wrong with them. Owning 4 of them, all different modles, i would take them over my old Savage, Winchester and Colt

Insert something clever and showing an understanding of motorcycle culture here

it's the afford part that gets me. And i've fallen in love with that accu-trigger. I got to play with a display thing of it at the LL Bean store and i want it.
