I used xbox-scene.com for instructions. To do the basic stuff, you have to buy a modchip, a hard drive (preferably at least 60g), a soddering iron, a 10 torx and a 15 torx. You need back up the microsoft dashboard, sodder in the chip, put in the hard drive, flash a bios on the chip, ftp a dashboard (evolutionX is what I use, same for the bios) to the new hard drive, then start renting games and copying them to the hard drive. Or do you just throw any ole hard drive in there?
I've never cracked open my xbox so i have no idea whats goin on in there.
Oh, and JWF, sweet box, mine has just the drive and modchip, I didn't care much about all the flashy stuff, because I'm too poor, but power switch light does flash orange and red, but that's just a bios control.
