Seriously, the tank wiggles is normal on that model.
Trust me.

Rachael,
Ride your bike very slowly over a speed bump to determine if the squeek is coming from the front or the back. I'll assume that it is likely coming from the back where the suspension bushings (at the pivot points)are likely dried out. You could pinpoint which one is giving you issues by spraying each one down with a little WD40, then riding over the same bump at low speed to see if the sound remains. The WD40 will not fix the squeek for long however, but at least you will have an idea of where to start. You will then have to investigate taking the noisy bushing apart OR injecting some grease with a grease needle attached to a grease gun ( I don't know if this is possible on your bike but I have gotten away with this before...). As for the tank, if the bolts are all tight, is there rubber bushings in the mounts that have worn? How many km are on the bike?

You could always add a couple of extra rubber washers to put a little more pressure on the tank to keep it from wiggling.

hahaha, those are some good suggestions for bungee cords. I'll think about it.

And High_Side, yea, I'm pretty sure the squeak is in the rear somewhere. Thanks for the advice, I will try to find that squeak, and then, finally, I will get to throw grease at something.
