hey Wife, i bought my shadow expecting to hand it down...but instead i bought her a little ninja she can use for a year or two to get into it.

i will suggest one thing right now for both of you....

get someone to rewire the brakes on those scooters if they are not set up like a bike..

put the front brake on the right and the rear on the left.

i rode a little Vino 125cc scooter and that threw me off at first

LOL Well, my wife has one and she *loves* it! Here she is on it:

I'm sure you'll love being a "biker chick" as much as she does. :)

This is really an excellent thread.

I wanted to recommend also purchasing two books:

Proficient Motorcycling and More Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough. I'm reading them now and they are chock full of excellent safe riding information.
When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

Suggestion for Jon and the Mrs.

Get a bike only if you can afford to pay for a big fat comprehensive life/disability insurance policy as well. At least some of the worst case scenario stuff will be taken care of.

She even tried foisting herself on me but to no avail and she hated it . then took it out on my wife, who is now my ex. I gotta tell ya the so called mother in law was a major wedge in breaking up our relationship . So don't preach to me how "scarey" they can be .

....that might have been the first mistake. As for the 'scarey' comment, again, a light hearted joke. You've gotta lighten up  Yeah, we all go through hell at one time or another. Why let it blur the rest of your life?
