KFC sued for its customer's stupidity

I really don't see the problem here........ Your description of the lawsuit is so wrong that I wonder what you read. How do you know these people are fat? They maybe, but it never says. They aren't suing for money, so it isn't like the McDonalds case at all. Like someone said before, heart diease is almost #1 cause of death, so I really see nothing wrong with giving a warning or using an oil that won't clog your arteries instantly :for those who are mentally challenged, I'm exaggerating a little:. People know KFC isn't the greatest for their health, but they might not know how horrible it actually is. You people need to base you opinions on lawsuits case by case. Each one is different, and I believe the plaintiff should pay for the defense'a lawyer IF the case gets dismissed due to being frivolous.

Asking KFC to put some kind of warning on their food is okay. Suing for it is ridiculous. The nutritional information of their food is already posted. Should they then be required by law to also post:

"By the way, our grease-filled high-fat cheap food is bad for you."

Great! I'm going to sue for them to put up other signs like:

"Excessive sucking on straw may lead to choking"

"Eating this ice-cream parfait too quickly may lead to headaches"

"Do not put this food bag over your head while driving"

"This soda contains sodium which may lead to high blood pressure"

"This product contains sugar and may rot your teeth"

"This coffee is HOT, it may also stain your teeth, AND it contains caffeine which may be addictive and lead to erratic behavior especially when given to children AND may stain clothing, do not pour coffee on clothing and DO NOT eat the styrofoam cup after you have finished consuming the beverage"

The only reason the govt should be involved is if the food chain is failing to provide enough information about their food so that consumers are unable to make smart choices about what they eat. That's not the case here, the information is readily available...its right there.

'Groups' like this are the reasons why the visor in my SUV has big orange warning labels that read "Warning: This SUV has a high center of gravity and may be more prone to roll-over than a car, avoid sudden jerky movements"...which is fine except the label can't be removed.

We're turning into a society where everyone demands that everything is handed to them on a platter. Sooner or later stoplights will have fine-print signs on them like "WARNING: RUNNING RED LIGHTS MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS" and "WARNING: WALKING INTO MOVING TRAFFIC MAY LEAD TO INJURY"

Thanks for this lawsuit. I can't wait for the day when I walk into KFC (which I havent done in over a year) for a box of chicken strips, open it up and on the inside of the box it reads:

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING KFC. THIS FOOD MAY KILL YOU!

any of these warning labels no matter how well intentioned become a joke to those who consume the product.

i can remember when i used to smoke they started putting these warning labels on cigarettes. my friends and i would joke and say "buy the may cause low fetal birth weight ones, we don't have to worry about that". there was even a company or two that sold fake stickers that you could put over the warnings like "Warning: this product will make you taller, more handsome and rich".

if any fast food outlet had to put warnings on their food packaging, people would crack a joke about it.

the best way to do warning labels on food would be one that is only visible if it is covered in grease and says "If you can read this, then this burger was too f'n greasy, have a salad or something for cryingoutloud"

KFC should just hire someone to sit there with a bic pen and write, "Warning eating this might make you fat" on every bill.

It costs them $7 an hour X number of stores.
