After you get back on the road, see if you can get 'tire and wheel insurance' I got it with my new bike when I bought it... $250 for 5 years.

That insurance just paid for itself when I got "screwed" a couple weeks ago on a month old rear tire.

The insurance covers damage to tire and wheel from anything that SHOULD NOT be in the road. That means if you hit a curb it doesn't count (not that I have any idea how they're gonna know that you hit a curb not a pothole).

They have to have tread depth at replacement compared to new tire tread and refund you based on % of wear to the damaged tire.
