one of the folks in the office has the Muppet Show theme on their cel phone.
It rang and i laughed, remembering the show.

the intern asked me why i was laughing, i asked don't you recognize the song?

apparently he had never heard it before
:roll2: It's time to play the music ,it's time to light the lights.....at the Muppet show tonight.

Similar thing happened to me when with our receptionist here at work.. We were talking about records and record players and she didn't know what I was talking about. .....im only 31

What's made me feel old has been
Hearing all my favorite songs in the "old school" remixes
Having to drive a mini van
and sadly enough caring for a sick parent...

I'm 29, for another 2 months anyway. I have to say, 30, sounds much older then anything with a twenty in front of it.

Twenty somethings do things like:

go to keg parties
under age drinking
stay up all night and sleep all day
work shitty jobs, but have a blast doing it
worry about school, but not about if you're saving enough in your 401k
smoke with the idea that someday you can stop and you'll still be young
marriage is nowhere in the picture, and thats ok

yep, 30 sounds old to me. I've even had a few gray hairs here and there. But do I feel old? No, not really. Not physically, or anything. But calling myself 30 definatly feels weird. I'm pretty sure I just got my first real job like a year ago? No, that was almost 10 years ago :(

We had an elderly lady on the block telling my kids to "Get off of her side walk" I thought that was hysterical...

I'm 44.

Nowadays, I realize that all of the motorcycles I used to own are now considered "classics".

Last year, my 17 year old niece was visiting and I had to spend 1/2 hr. explaining the concept of the vinyl phonograph record and turntable. It's not just something that rappers use to make noises. Eventually my explanation was narrowed down to : " It's like a big, black CD"

Wow, I'm glad some other people have gray hair around my age (22), it makes me feel better... haha. I'm starting to get silver streaks in my side-burns.. kinda of a Mr. Fantastic thing going on.

I don't really feel old unless I think about it too much (because Im not very old). I've been working within my career goals for the 4 years I ahve been going to school. I'm working for Progress Energy, who provides power for Florida and North Carolina, doing engineering work with mentors. I have not had that "crappy college job", and having a regular 40 hour week all summer (and part time during the school year) kinda gives me a preview of the next 10 years of my life... lol

When I was younger, I messed up both of my knees playing soccer and volleyball. Now they both pop and crack when they bend. I still play volleyball and soccer and do various other fun sport things. I just have to warm up a lot beforehand. Oh, and my knees hurt when it rains... which is very often in Florida :(
My roommate says I have OMS: Old Man Syndrome.

Despite an injury from volleyball, my shoulder never hurts, it just clicks occasionally. The kicker is my right wrist which I hurt while returning a spike (which was probably over 100 mph) when I was in the junior olympics at 16. I had taken many hits like that before, but I guess it just hit it funny and tore some tendons and cartilledge. Also, as a dumb kid I just taped it up and kept playing; probably not the best idea in retrospect.

I also managed to tear all of the soft tissue in my left foot while playing soccer (from the big toe back on the inside of the foot). That took over a year to heal! I was playing Volleyball for UCF at the time too, so I was in pain for a good deal of the time. The doctor said I wouldn't hurt it more by playing on it, but it would just hurt a lot. That was the last year I played for UCF though.. engineering just got to be too much time.

Now, I'm buying a house, my little brother is graduating highschool this year, and I still can't believe it is 2006. lol

Records and CDs basically are the same thing. On a record the ridges send a signal through the pin to directly vibrate a speaker diaphram, a CD just has bumps that translate to 1/0 for the computer with a laser.

Same thing as those pull-string talking toys. They still have those right??
