First Bike for New Rider

#1 Unread post by Deshlock »

Hi I'm new to the forums and to motorcycles in general, I was looking through a selection of bikes to narrow down what size I want to buy, I do plan on buying at least a 500 for my first bike. The bike i have really been looking at is the kawasaki ninja ex500r. This would be my first bike and the bike that i would be learning on. the reason i pick a more powerful bike is because Im 6'3 and a little beefy in stature so i would like a bike that has at least an ample amount of power for myself but not to much power to be dangerous. Is this a good choice or should i go for the standard ex500.

Only bad thing I can think of is the large quantity of breakable plastics on the Ninja. If you drop it, plastics will break. For a starter bike, the least plastic fairings, etc, the better off you are from an expense standpoint.
