I like how you managed to scrape every little bit of paint off it surfing down the highway. Impressive.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Uhmmm, no.
Hey, I just realized something, your FJ1200 looks just like my Ninja 600...

haha, someone asked me what my KZ650 was, so I told them. They asked if it was "like a cruiser?", I said "no". They said "it doesn't look like a sportbike", I said "it's not one". What is it then?? "A UJM", I reply. "What's that??" "A mythical creature spawned in the belly of a small island nation, released upon Americans in an attempt to thwart a monopolistic takeover by a corporate giant who sells vibrating toys." "I don't get it." "Me Neither."

I had a good laugh at least...

My favorite one was when this little kid in my neighborhood (like 3 years old) asked me about my VFR. He goes "What's that??!", so I told him: "A rocket ship ;)", "Does it fly?" "Not unless I mess up." Then I actually explained it... he thought it was the coolest thing ever, not sure if he ever saw a motorcycle before.

You guys know some real stoopids.

People seem to understand what I mean when I say "cruiser" or "sportbike".
Who is stupider?

The civilian who describes all bikes as cruisers, or sportbikes?

Or the biker who does the same thing?

The biker of course. you expect that from non-riders

Once in a great while I get the HD question , but most of the time I get "Nice bike ." and I say "Thank you ." and go on my way .
A couple of weeks ago I was getting off of my scoot to wait for my breakfast diner to open and as I was removing my helmet I noticed this elderly lady , yep older than me even , just standing their staring/admiring with a wistful look on her face . As I said "Good Morning " to her she let me know that she rode a great deal when she was younger . I thought that was kinda kewl .
Catching her in reverie that is .
Regards, Wizzard

But Honey, I love your crotch rocket! You're my favorite racer boy, so my vote is that you stay in town.

Cheers,
