Smoked license plate cover

#1 Unread post by honda599 »

I'm thinking of installing a smoke coloured license plate frame. Anyone had any hassle from State or local police...US OR Canada?? Wanted to protect my license plate and I think it would compliment my asphalt coloured bike.

Had one on my car got pulled over told to take it off (no ticket though). The trouble is if cop comes up behind you and he is bored. He will nick you for it.The only Lisence plate cover you can have in Canada is clear.

I got stopped twice within 6 months by state police in Oregon for one. Gave up and took it off.

Thanks for your replies. Guess I won't...don't want any hassle from the cops.

This somehow relates to my question so I will post here instead of cluttering the board:

For those of you with FE kits-
Do you have flush mount or cat eye blinkers on the back?

I prefer the flush mount look but some states will get on you big time for them. This is what I have read on some other message boards so I thought I might ask for opinions here.

Having the smoked plate cover is just an invitation to get rolled. Then who knows what the cop might ticket you for in addition to the plate cover.
