Spend 5-6 months a year, every year with -30 to -40 degree temps. You'll soon discover that there is no such a thing as 'too hot'.

+1

mind you, Id rather be in the cold then the heat.....

you can dress for the cold... the heat, you can only go so far..then you get arrested for indecent exposure....

-40 sucks..... hurts to breathe....

-40 oh Gosh I pray for that. Heck If it is 105 it feels good and that is between 9 and 10:30 in the morning by noon it is some where around 115 and a very hot dry wind blowing. and at night if it gets down to 95 tha tis a good cool night. And heck if I could you bet your sweet a$$ I would be out riding in this weather. Riding is a way of life not a wheather thing.

Did you guys see the study just released by (some US congressional agency) that the earth is hotter than it's been for the past 2000 years?

They got their data from stuff like tree-rings, ice core samples and what not. Interesting stuff!

You're a horrible person! Go give your bike the attention it deserves!

While everyone is on the subject of heat, I'd rather it be uncomfortably hot than too cold. I'm sick of winter. With the heat you can always speed up, get the airflow, maybe blast through a few of those big field sprinklers. With the cold you can... shiver... and swear, and shiver some more.

Exactly!!! Hooray!!! Finally, someone else who gets it! Cold sucks.... it can kill you dead in minutes...... heat may be uncomfortable(still not buying that  ) but you will live. Go for a stroll to the store in your t-shirt at -40 and see what it gets you. It gets you your funeral, that's what.

For the past couple of weeks we've been running anywhere between 108°-111° .
So what was the point again ?
Feels really great running down the road on my scoot . It's the stopping part that gets you a little down .

We are my accolades, the applause, the crown of laurel leaves?! lol

It's time to ride....let's go!

Go look up "sunstroke" and then come back and tell us that heat can't kill you.

Yeah it's really insane. Our winter this year was pitiful barely any days below 20F. Where as the first few years we moved to Chicago in the early 90's the winters were constantly around 0-10F. I miss it!

Absolutely. Outside on pavement, the actual temperature is 20 to 25 degrees F hotter than the reported temp. It's pretty easy to overheat at those temps, since your body has no way to dissapate that much excess heat. I managed to get heat exhaustion for the last two weekends in a row by working on my plane outside in the sun. Even drinking lots of water, I was woozy and nauseous after less than 2 hrs.

From the CDC on heat related deaths :

"during 1993-2002, the incidence of such deaths was 3-7 times greater in Arizona than in the United States overall."

and

"The European summer heat wave of 2003 was exceptionally harsh in both duration and intensity. In France alone, the number of heat-related deaths reached 14,800 by August 20"
