Zed. I just passed my MSF today and am thinking of buying the Vulcan 500 next week.

I am going to have to buy new because there is nothing around here and its really hard to get a used bike that you want.
I looked at Honda shadow, suzuki c50 and m50 and Yamaha Star's too but i think i like the 500 the best.
I like the Vulcan 750 too because of the shaft drive and the tach and fuel gauge, Its just out of my budjet though.
new to biking, looking for a good beginner cruiser

I think you'll be happy with the V 500.
