Practiced my emergency stops on my way to work this morning and noticed that the brkes just dont feel like they use to [quick stopping from 60kmh]
they are ok but is there a way to adjust them so they grab a bit more,

You could swap out your old brake lines for some braided stainless steel ones. The old rubber lines expand when you squeeze the brake lever, the braided stainless steel ones don't expand as much so you'll have a firmer feel.
Also if you haven't done it in a while, it is a good idea to flush out the old brake fluid. I've always been told that at least every 2 years is a good maintenance window. Reason is the brake fluid absorbs moisture and then doesn't work as well over time.
A more aggressive pad is also something to look for. Not sure what is out there for your particular bike, but do a google search and you'll probably find something.

brake pressure
try looking at your front brake lever at least...there should be a screw there to adjust the play. adjust it out and you might apply fuller brake. when the pads wear you have to adjust there to get the most out of the pads.
