Hay got a quick question

Ok I decided that i want to get a motorcycle license and get me a motorcycle now i got couple of questions for you experts. I am 6'4-6'5 so yes i am pretty tall. I want to know what bike would be good for bigenner and for my size. I want only Sport Bikes i dont care about dirt bikes or harlys. One bike that i would like to get is Honda CBR1000RR. Heres some pics that i found...

Do you think that bike would be good for bigenner and for my size. List some bikes that you suggest that i get. Keep in mind that i am tall and only want sport bikes. Thanks for all the help and give me any advice that you think i need.

Definitly not a beginners bike. Read the stickys at the top of this forum. It will have more info there for you.

almost everyone here will say to stay away from 600cc-1000cc RR sportbikes.

and they will also say you will fit on ninja 250.

the only beginner sportbike in the US that i know of is the hyosung comet 250R. here's a pic...

try to read the sticky post above about beginners bikes. take what you can from it and then decide.

Why do you say that?? is it too powerful? Anyway so u think Ninja 250 is good bike for me any1 ????

starting to learn to ride a bike is risky. riding is risky.

starting on a superbike adds a WHOLE LOT MORE to the risk.

also, you'll improve your skills faster on a smaller bike.

but i always say... in the end, it's still your choice. it's not impossible to learn on a literbike. it'll just be harder and A LOT more risky.

and like i said... if you want a beginner sportbike... the only choice you have in the US is the hyosung comet 250R.

in europe, they have lots of beginner sportbikes to choose from unlike in the US.

I just got my bike two days ago. I got a Suzuki GS500F. That thing has enough power to cruse at 80 mph without a problem. I would say go with a 500.

if you are serious about a good beginner bike, then think about kawasaki ninja 500 or suzuki gs500. there are some tamer new 600's and also older 600's you could consider but strictly speaking they are a grey area for beginners.

please do not use your size as an excuse for getting too much first bike, but at the same time the bike you end up with will depend a lot on fit.

in the end it's your call what you get. research as much as possible and take the brc- www.msf-usa.org -before you buy.

Dirt bikes and a Harley (what you mean is a Cruiser) are not your only other choices.

You can get a dual sport like a V-Strom 650 (those things are

). The V-Strom isn't as sensitive as a 600 sport bike and won't get you into trouble as quickly. I know, I know, you only want a sports bike. But look at it. It's damn sexy.

An SV650s might be to your liking as well. It's the more sportier version of the SV650 and looks good. Also it won't kill you.

The EX650 is a newer bike. While the Ninja is a 650, it shares the same qualities as the V-Strom and SV with a lower powerband that won't get you into trouble as easily.

But the staple starter bikes are the EX500 and the (so they say...) better looking/sportier looking GS500.

Do what I did, use Google image search to look up all the bike names you come across and decide which one you think looks good. But keep in mind the bike does you no good if you're dead.

Thanks for the advice guys and i have learnd alot here. I have decided that i will either get the EX650 GS500 or Ninja 250. Which of those 3 would be the best for my height and also one more question. I am planing on doing the MSF asap and want to know how much doesn it usually cost and do they let you choose the bike that you want to ride/pass test with.
