With the engine NOT running the fuel pump pumps no fuel. According to the book it should pump 614 cc with the key in the on position and I assume this is with the engine NOT running?? Is this correct and the fuel pump needs to be replaced?
Thanks

will it crank and run now??? if it will disconnect the fuel line and put it in a container then crank it and let it run for 6 seconds then cut it off.multiply what fuel you get times 10.that will tell you how much it is pumping.i have a v30 magna and you have to jumper out the fuel pump to test it when not running.yours might be the same.

ok, I ran the flow test and came up with 1.25 oz which calculates to 12.50 per minute. The book calls for 22oz, I assume per minute + or - 10%. I checked all the hoses, cleaned the petcock and changed the filter, so the $110.00 question, bad fuel pump? The bike stalls after about a 7 to 10 mile ride and starts back up after an hour or more all at high speed 55 to 65 mph.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

make the fuel flow test with the fuel cap open--may be the vent stopped up.if you do need a pump there is one you can get for a car that will work .it is a bunch cheaper.it is one for a 1983 Honda Civic with a 1.3 liter engine.may have to adapt the wires but it will work.

Re-test the pump with fuel cap open. You may be pulling against a vacuum.

Yes ... vacuum may be an issue here (And probably is)

Yep, pulling a vaccum. Without the cap I get good fuel flow. I replaced the cap so I can only hope that does the trick. I got my chevy fixin tools strapped on, although a six drawer tool box is lookin kinda funny!
Just kiddin!

On the road again!
