somebody opened a door when i was splitting. he did it before i got near though. then he closed it, then i went on to split but ready to brake in case he opens it again.

i didn't know what his motives are and i didn't stay to chat. i doubt it's somebody i knew but i heard him honk after i passed. it was a sweet car though, one of those modern super muscle cars. i dunno anybody who has a nice car like that.

anyway... it was weird.

Might have just been reclosing his door. I see people doing that all the time.

That he honked maybe he was trying to tell you to stop lanesplitting. Too bad for him its legal in CA, but he probably doesn't have a clue.

hit his door... see how dumb he feels with the nice big ticket because it isn't legal, then he has to repair his car out of his pocket.

I'd do it with my KZ and then get a brand new one... although, I'm willing to bet that tank could break through a few car doors without any real damage.

I would totally do that if I had a beater bike. Aim the wheel as far into the car as you can and give the throttle a little blip while you're at it.

I tried this with an old Corolla last winter. A guy peeled out of a parking lot turning right, so he would have been in traffic going opposite of my direction. One of those guys who think that 4x4 means he can forget about the laws of physics... anyway he did a 180 right into my path and I even went left just a touch to try and ram him... but the jerk got a bit of traction and got out of the way.

I was hoping to cash a write-off cheque on that one. Damn!

Yah but when you're ramming into doors don't forget that the laws of physics apply to you as well.

The motorcycle will stop, you'll stop as well, but it's either going to be much further down the road from your bike or after you go through his window.

I just keep remembering what BuzZz always says about opening your door on someone.

"If you put a biker down like that, you better hope you put him down hard enough that he isn't going to get back up. Because otherwise you're going to have one pissed off biker and a door that you cannot close anymore."
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I've seen some dumb comments on this site, but this one's pushing for the lead.
