I draw the line at jeans, leather jacket, boots, and 3/4 face helmet.

No less.

The real issue, CB, is did ya wear socks, and were they armored? :)

I never go out without jeans, full-face, my JR gloves and armored mesh jacket, and some type of strong boot or shoe. I really want to get some kevlar jeans for better abrasion protection, but I have to save my $$...

I keep all my gear together with my helmet, so I never forget any of it.

Yep - I had on my steel socks and boxers under my running shoes and khakis! Rest assured everyone - I'm currently shopping for more appropriate gear. I usually wear a leather jacket and gloves and a full-face helmet, but only the helmet is really made for riding. I'm having a bit of sticker shock though - I got my bike for realtively cheap and I'm kind of shocked at the prices for motorcycle gear. But I know it's worth it - or I should say I'm worth it.

As long as people are making confessions, I'll let it be known that I always ride in sneakers. Have the leather armored jacket, gloves, and a great quality helmet, but always wear my sneakers.

Please wait while I tuck the laces in.

Ok, begin tearing me apart now. :bye:

I'll confess to skipping the leather to run to the carwash. I consider this very low risk, but you gotta have a little risk to make life interesting. There's always hope that along the way I can enrage some busy body who needs something to rage on about  Kinda makes it all worth while

I have ridden my bike up to the end of the block and back with no gear (jeans, tennis shoes, whatever shirt, no gloves), but that is less than 1/8 mile I'm sure. If I'm going to do any decent amount of riding, maybe more than 15 minutes, I'd put on full gear. I have run to the corner without my riding pants, but that is as far as I go. There are always exceptions to the rule, but you must always know you are taking a risk, and if something happens, you asked for it.
