For some reason I thought that 0-60 times started when the light went green, and not when you start rolling. So human response times would be taken into consideration. How do you account for that?

Or are you just counting in your head while you do it?
im counting "one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two, one-thousand-three" then quick look at the speedo.

of course, i do this in the backroad for safety.

...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Well you're a better man then me. I find that I tend to count things I'm doing rather then the time it takes. For example, I count my shifts, rather then how long it takes me to make them. I find that regardless of what I'm doing my counting of seconds tends to fall into an even pace with whatever I'm doing - typing for example. If I was trying to count seconds I'd be counting so fast that the numbers would blend into one another.

I would love to learn to fly and I've even talked about it with the wife, but she puts her foot down as soon as I mention how much it would cost.

I did some net research and it was around $6k to get a basic pilots license for the little prop planes (most of that being rental fees for the plane). Too rich for my blood...but boy would it be wonderful to get out there in the open sky.

V, I think it would be MORE fun to fly a small prop than a jet. In the jet you just go high, fast, and don't see anything except the forward horizon. I'd rather be flying slow, dipping in and out and around and checking out Earth. :canuck:

well, it's easier to go 0-60 on my bike since i don't have to shift up to reach 60mph.

so i just need to work on my take-offs and throttle roll-on.

and yeah, im pretty calm when im doing this so i don't count too fast or too slow.

that "one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two, one-thousand-three" method is the one i used before in my ealier days of learning when determining how much distance i have from the vehicle in front of me.

back then i always leave more than enough space since im not confident as i am today. so i find a marker then count how much secs apart i am from the vehicle in front.
