Wow.

Disappointed in this board

....63 isn't elderly

....Maybe the guy attacked had tattoo's

....maybe he provoked it

Nice to know we can excuse away someone having to be restrained from beating another person for touching personal property. Even if he opened the gas tank and spat in it, there's no excuse to hit anyone...

The biker doing the hitting was 39...much younger....what is the age difference that makes it wrong to beat someone up?

I guess I should hold off getting a tattoo, after all, don't want anyone saying I deserved to be attacked in anyway....

My entire point was that the headline given in the news report *could* be a gross misrepresentation of the facts. I also clearly said that it could be very accurate. The bottom line is that we don't know what went on.

I know quite a few people over 60 that are youthful in both mind and body and would take serious offense to being called elderly.

I also said he didn't "deserve" a beating. I'm a very nonviolent person and I don't think anyone ever "deserves" a beating.

Neither one of them were very smart. Ya don't go fondling a 1%er's bike without expecting a reaction. But beating down an old man for it is a bit extreme too. Coulda been resolved a little better I'm sure.

but you did say:

He may not have *deserved* what he got, but for all we know, he had it coming to him.

I'm terribly disappointed as well. There's no excuse for this. Age is irrelevant. The action carried out by the 39 yr. old biker is archaic and inexcusable in any modern society.

I totally agree, but there's no getting around the fact that a badass looking biker guy is liable to kick your butt if you tick him off.

Carroll's behavior was reprehensible, but if someone goes around willingly annoying Hell's Angels, he's going to get hurt sooner or later. Just like 19 year old kids on R1's going 140mph on the interstate wearing nothing but a helmet.. they don't *deserve* to get killed, but it *will* happen sooner or later.

I don't see what's so disappointing about accepting that.

I don't accept the guy's actions. I accept the fact that if I go around annoying guys on Harleys, sooner or later I'm going to get my butt kicked.

Do I think that's cool? No, of course not. It's a sad fact of life that some people resort to violence. Look at the idiotic "fighting" thread going on in this forum.
