Nice. Beware though that the front end tends to be pretty soft when braking so have the shop put a heavier fork oil in there. Depending on your weight the reaer shocks could be a little soft. The tires are budget so after 4k miles the tires may squirm when wet. Last but not least, do not get the Vulcan windshield if you plan on having a windshield, get one that's more angled and a bit smaller unless you like having a windsail.

Other than that, enjoy.... the engine knows its heritage.

If you're looking at the 500, consider getting the bigger 750. To me the 750 is the better bargain.

How many km of riding have your bikes actually given you, Pete? Last time I recall you writing anything it was about 500? But that was a while ago... have you crossed 2000?

BTW: The Vulcan 500 will be a sweet ride. Very easy to work on...and you probably won't have to do much work on it. :)
special...I like that... As for distance..I clicked over the 1000 KM mark recently, the only reason I havent had more is due to not really trusting the bike on the long trips.

Karate chick - these "special" bikes will soon be on the local buy/sell BB. the 400 is in better shape then I give it credit for, so I shouldnt have much of a problem selling it.... the 650 might be a bit trickier, but once its running (hopefully this week end) it might get a better reaction.

But I am tired of old/high milage bikes, and a headache free ride would be sweet.

Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.
