newbie track day - 30 October 2006

A good friend of mine is running this event. I volunteered to post it for her. If anyone out there is remotely interested, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE come to this event. My friend is running this trackday entirely out of her own pocket. So, I'd love to see it be worthwhile for her.

Here are the details........

COST:
$125 per person for track time.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
1. Check (no additional fee)
2. Paypal (additional $5 to process payment)

PLUS $10 ENTRY FEE:
There will be an additional $10 entry fee the day of the event at the gate.
This fee is cash only and the guy that signs you in will take your money.
Entry Fee Payment is due at time of sign-up.

----------------------

There will be 3 groups: Race, Sport, Street. Each group will have 20 minute sessions on the track. The track runs 8am to 5pm with a 30-45 minute lunch.

STREET GROUP
First time to a race track, or experienced track riders that are still working on the basic track riding skills such as smooth bike operation, throttle control, and holding their line throughout a corner. There is no passing on the inside of any corners in this group which makes it safer for the riders being passed as riders doing the passing become more comfortable passing other riders.

SPORT GROUP
This group is for riders that have track experience and can perform basic track riding skills. They can hold a steady line at a steady pace throughout a corner regardless of being passed on inside or outside. They can judge and execute a safe pass without disrupting the rider being passed. There is passing on both inside and outside which helps riders to work on corner speed and perfect their passes.

RACE GROUP
Same as sport group but are doing it at a much faster pace! You need not be a licensed racer but must possess the same qualities.

----------------------

FOR FIRST TIMERS:

There is a new rider orientation after the rider meeting in the morning. New riders will also get 2 orientation laps in the morning before the first Street group session so they can accquaint themselves with the track.

There will also be help available should anyone need it - ask the Control Riders for the trackdaz staff - they will be wearing yellow vests. (Don't be shy - if you'd like help, just go up to them before your session & ask them - they're all very helpful and very easy to talk to.)

----------------------

TRACKSIDE SERVICES:

Suspension tuning by Dave Moss from Catalyst Reaction
http://www.feelthetrack.com

Michelin Tire Vendor - Racers Edge Performance

Video Services by Got Video?

AND!!!

Sportbike Rental will be providing sport bike rentals for $75 by the session! If you want to try out a different bike and couldn't make it to Femmoto (or you're a guy and couldn't attend Femmoto, anyway), here's your chance!

Not that I can go, but I'm curious.....When you say each group gets 20 minutes track time, does that mean one time only? $125.00 seems kind of steep for a 20 minute go around.

Also, if a person is entirely new to a race track, is there some kind of instruction on proper handling and maneuvering on a race track, or this just about having the experience of saying you went on a race track?

I am genuinely interested to know....there aren't any such things up here.

Since it's from 8 AM to 5 PM, I seriously doubt it's a one time deal.

It's likely 20 minutes Street, Track, Race to make up an hour, then it'll repeat.

So if you stay all day, about 2 hours and 40 minutes of on bike time.
Have fun on the open /¦\
