For me the only thing in learning to ride a m-c that even related to a manual trans car was the idea/definition of "friction zone" Other than that, I didn't find anything about driving a manual that related to the m-c. One thing I DID have to learn NOT to do was to let go of the clutch suddenly but to ride it. And that was happening because you are not supposed to ride the clutch on a car so I didn't want to do that on the m-c. Once I drilled it into my head it was okay to, things improved quickly.
Ya right, there are only 2 kinds of bikes: It's a Ninja... look that one's a Harley... oh there's a Ninja... Harley...Ninja...

my first manula was a motorcycle.

i just practiced a lot. find en empty parking lot and just practice startign and stopping. i also heard- let the friction point surprize you- dont anticipate it. let the bike pull you until your legs are kind of dragging on the pavement, dont try to hop your legs up the split second that you feel the bike start to move.

as with all things- practice makes perfect and you'll get it soon enough.

i still cant (havent tried) to drive a manual tranny car. but i think learning on a bike is more difficult because you have to ballance as well as worry with clutch throttle and shifter.
