When did we all get too good to get our hands dirty?
As a nation, when did we all get too good to get our hands dirty? When did we all get too upscale to pick strawberries in the fields, to pick pole beans, to pick fruit in the orchards? Did we get too fat and comfortable that we did'nt have to do it anymore? When did our children become too good to work with their hands? When did we decide that work was demeaning ?
these are my questions..........my little part of the immigration debate .

Since being lazy and paying others to do work for you became the American way.
We're a product of 100 years of industrial booming, coupled with an economic boom after WWII, rapid urbanization where everything went up for sale - food, housecleaning, you name it. Sewers went underground, farms went away into the boondocks, and anything requiring serious labor is hidden from view. 30-somethings now all grown up, living off the hard work of the generations before them that built this country, spending all the money without having to do much work (fast-track to corporate management, where people get paid the most to do the least work), and the gradual elimination of a middle class. Anything bad that happens to us, we immediately blame someone else and sue, then splurge it all on toys. Kids no longer work, no longer do any real chores (we have maids and lawnpeople for that), no longer scratch themselves on sharp objects or touch anything that might be dirty.
How do you expect a generation to behave that is given everything it wants, shown a dream of going to college on mom&pops dime and becoming a fat-cat who makes too much money for doing nothing most of the day, told that anything dirty and dangerous and difficult should be avoided at all costs and if anything does happen, get someone else to solve the problem for you.

Can we all say and comprende ILLEGAL? This intrusion into the US has been going on for a long time now. It has just become an issue since it has been miraculously newsworthy by newspapers and television. Has everyone become so dependent on cheap labor to get by? We have become a nation that is dependant on other countries for most of our goods and have no one to blame but ourselves. SORRY, but I just HAD to vent. Bottom line...illegal is just what it says ,ILLEGAL.

Picture This
WalMart Grocery Checkout in Mount Airy, NC: An obviously Hispanic couple (they are conversing in Spanish) with two babies. They have separated their groceries on the conveyor belt. The first section is comprised of items I usually cannot afford (relatively expensive cuts of meat, etc. - even for WalMart). The man, standing resplendid in his embroidered cowboy shirt, starched and pressed blue jeans, and ostrich boots, pays for this load with hundred dollar bills. The second section is comprised of basic staples: milk, eggs, cereal, juice, etc. The woman pays for this with a WIC check, issued by the State of North Carolina to women who have either no man/husband to pay for these staples or he is not working. The amount of the check is proportional to how many little mouths she has to feed all by herself. After I check out, I try to pay with my credit card. The POS terminal will not accept it until I choose my language - English or Spanish. I feel like a stranger in my own land.

be extremely careful when choosing your words in reference to these wonderful immigrants that made our country so great.the stigma of being labeled a racist by people that are far removed from any contact with these fine individuals is severe.if you had followed them outside the store you could have seen them get into a Lincoln Navigator or Cadillac Escalade.but dont forget that they are just here so they can send some American money back to their dear old granny.knowing that should erase any questions about your tax money going for the anchor baby that comes along every nine months.but they do live among their own kind as when they move into a neighborhood and turn it into a pig sty like the one they came from the american residents take what they can get for their homes and leave.

Were they obviously hispanic or obviously a couple?
No doubt the reason hubby has a stack of $100 bills is because they have no bank account to keep their money untraceable and don't pay taxes!
No one carries cash anymore, least of all that much of it. People who abuse the system like that are sickening. People who really need help don't get it.
