Actually, anything by Chuck Palahniuk is good. I just finished reading "Choke" and the story was wild.

So far I'm enjoying Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. About 1/3 of the way through.

Kurt Vonnegut wrote some great books - Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse Five, Cat's Cradle are all ones I've read that I consider excellent reading.

Starship troopers book was great, read it a while back, and although I enjoyed the movie, the book was sooo much better.

Neil Gaimen, I have read neverwhere and good omens, but my favorite by him has been American Gods.

and the non fiction suggestions, I'll have to have a peek, I have read a few non fiction, Band of Brothers was a really good book, read it before I bought the boxed set of the HBO series. and JarHead was pretty good as well, movie was so so, but the book was quite good (it was my deer hunting in the tree stand book)

thanks for the suggestions everyone!
