If it hasn't been started for a while, then it's probably bad gas that's causing bike to not IDLE. Drain the carbs and the gas tank, and put in fresh gas.

Adding some Sea Foam to the tank will also help degum and dewater the carbs. If it's been sitting a really long time, you may need to disassemble and clean the carbs.[/b]

I might be mentally challenged here but are you using the choke. I know my bike will not idle well if I dont use the choke right away.

gotta admit spies sure can ride. Though Rossi can drag elbow without sticking his elbows way the hell out like spies does.

Im guessing the sticking the elbows way the hell out thing is a holdover from spies motocross days.

actually, sticking the elbows helps in controlling the bike on cornering... or at least that's what another experienced gixxer rider told me when i posted the pics of my training on the other forum.

i quote him...
I would suggest in cornering you move forward a bit more and bend your elbows out some, you only need them tucked in like that when you are at triple digit speed trying to keep them out of the wind. Having them bent and out will allow you to have better leverage and control over the front end, notice how Spies sticks his way the "fudge" ou their in corners.

Imagine trying to shovel a pile of dirt, do it first with your elbows tucked against your sides, then with them stuck out.....which way is easier.
