Dont go 10kph (6 MPH) over the speed limit ever. It drives my wife and all the cars around me insane. On a bike I rarely go over the speed limit unless there is a threat of becoming a hood ordinament....

Back when I had a bike that wasn't totalled, I'd cruise around 10 mph above the limit. The only time I went faster was to test my skills on curves. Or to return the favor to someone who cut me off.

I usually cruise at 5 over. That's the leeway that cops will give around here. It's also up to the point that you can argue that the difference between your speedometer and their radar gun is negligible.

Any faster in these parts and you become profit for the county.

I know, I was surprised too.

Depends on the day and the type of riding I'm doing. There are days I'm happy to just be out cruising around, and there are days that justify to me why I should never have a sport bike.

130 over? so that's probably around... 195mph.

what mods do you have on your busa?

i haven't tested yet how fast my bike can really go... so far, i've only pushed it up to 143mph.
No mods, speed was 186 in a 55. Nobody around but a few cows on the other side of the fence.

The bike is stock. It always happens that I say I'm going to keep my speed down, then someone passes me and my right hand goes crazy.

In the city I go the speed limit. Boston is well known for its jay-walking citizens and the last thing I want to do is hit one of them - even if they do deserve it. On the highway I keep up with traffic, which means 5-20 over depending on the time and day.

Depends on if I'm paying attention or not.

If I remember to watch the speed, I never go over 5-7 mph over. If I'm not watching it, I'll easily be 15 over before I realize it.

I normally go at least 5-10mph over the speed limit which happens to be the flow of traffic. Normally cops around here won't give you a ticket unless you're going over that buffer.

I keep the speed under control because I've already go too many speeding tickets from my truck. One more speeding ticket and my insuarance company is going to drop me faster than my prom date's panties...

I usually keep it within 10kmh now. Sometimes you have to go faster if a jackass is tailgaiting or you're trying to do a merge on the freeway and people are being dicks, but once you've gotten yourself safely into place, it's time to slow back down.

And you also need to take into account the fact your speedo is probably out by 2-10% (reading faster) so if i'm doing 110 in a 100 zone, and my speedo is out by 10% then maybe I'm only doing 99?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
