Thanks for the tips, guys. I guess I need to crop the image after I scan it. Not sure how to shrink it down to paste it though. I am using photobucket and don't really know the whole scoop. Any help would be nice.

With the program you're using when you scan the photos try looking through the Edit dropdown menu. In there should be a Crop option as well as a Resize option. Click then drag from corner to corner on the picture then select crop. Then try resizing down to 600x400. Experiment with these options. Also, try looking for an option to up the dpi of the scanner, try to get as high a resolution as you can when scanning. Also, don't scan pictures that you printed on regular printer paper, they will look like crap.

Forget that.

When you're looking at your thumbnails in photobucket press the [Edit] Button, in the screen that comes up there will be a couple of options, select [shirnk to 50%] and press okay.

Then come back to TMW press reload (F5) and see how big the picture is. Repeat as necessary. (If it's just a little to big shrink to 75%, if it's WAY to big shrink to 25%).

Note on a 1024X768 res you want your pics to be 750pixels wide in order to not upset the boundaries for the forums. This can be done with a decent photoediting program very easily, I use photoshop myself.

On widescreen it's way different, takes a lot of playing around, lol.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

The reason it looks the same is because your computer will "store" the image. It does this to speed up loading of webpages that you have recently visited. So it pulls the pic out of the computers hard memory, instead of requesting the image from the server again.

You need to force a reload:

Go to the webpage where you copied the link and press F5. The page will reload and the new image size will show up.

If you look your pic is TINY now. You went to far. Gotta delete and put it back up on photobucket. Then shrink it to 50% once, and come back to TMW, look at the picture, now press F5 and the page will reload, the size should change.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

That's more like it. Scenic Overlook on Hwy. 421 North leading to Boone, N.C. That's my best-friend's '85 H-D Evo. FXR, maybe. Pic. taken 8 years ago.

And yes, that is a salad bowl.

How to get as avatar now? It is saved as a .jpg and is 2k but still declines it in the Profile menu? How big can the avatar be, because this picture is now too small!

Okay, I'm done.

Just learned when you delete or change a photo on the server, it changes it wherever you have it. Good to know.
