Well, today I actually got some stuff acomplished! Got the gas tank off, and am currently cleaning/rust removaling it. hope to have that done by the week end. Also saw some pretty cool paint at the local autop parts supply place (where I had to get my motor mount bolts, crappy tire had NO selection of Bolts or nuts to speak of) they have this pretty cool paint that changes colour depending on the light or you can get the black with silver flecks (Im leaning towards the later, as the colour shift is between blue and purple, which doesnt really do it for me) anyways, got a motor mount put on (waiting for the other one to be shipped) and got a few other bits taken off. looks pretty stripped down, but at least its nice weather for it. Ill take a pic tommorrow and post it up.

Hey, that's a nice project bike, Pete! Believe me, I've seen lots worse! Glad to see you've been able to locate some bits and pieces to work with. They do seem to run better with carbs...

The hair dryer may help - should be OK as long as all the gas fumes are gone! Did you take off the petcock? I would think, if you did, most everything should drain out.
Post some more pics so we can see your progress!
Let me get this straight... it's one down and four up, right?

Still waiting for the dryer to do its stuff. I did take the petcock off, but the hole isnt at the lowest point of the tank, for some reason... so I have a bit of water left in the bottom... doesnt really matter, as this is the only thing I can do this week end anyways seeing as NONE of my parts came in.

Well, some parts came in for the beast... I am STILL waiting for my carbs though...Im ordering from the same scrap yard, and Im thinking every time I order something, hes just taking my other order of parts and adding to it, so Im not gettign anything, although, when I do, it should be a huge box *lol* I repainted the fuel tank (black with silver flecks) Oh, BTW I HATE BONDO!!!! engine mounts are one and painted, seats recovered... just waiting on my parts... its irritating not knowing when they will come in, Im like a kid at Xmas... I will post some pics of the work Ive done so far when I get the chance.

It's never too soon to start polishing! :D

Nice bike, looks like fun. :) Wish I could find something like that in the Michigan area.
