Another day another pic.

Took this one freestyle... which is to say I carefully opened my tank bag, reached inside and pulled out the camera with my left hand (after turning it on in the bag). Then aimed it blind, while watching the road ahead of my and snapped a number of pics. This is by far the best one.

Malice looks like a real biker to me.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

With a full week passed since we left for Jasper I'm done with posting pictures, there's lots left, so I'm sure a couple more will work their way into later posts, but for now I'll leave you with these.

I've been asked by a couple of people to delete Verm's pic from my quote. But I'm going to leave it as a monument to e-peen.

all I can say about the last pic is.

Nice bug collection LOL. I think I looked even worse than that after my last long ride, had to stop to clean bugs off my helmet visor every 50 miles.

OMG I'M FREAKING NUTS!!!!!!!

Okay, so about 9 months ago my best friend moved to Vancouver. Since then he has been bugging me to come out and visit him... so:

On Fri the 14th 6 of us are setting out on our bikes from Edmonton to Canmore:

Image
393 km (about 4 hours 22 mins)

Where we've got a place to stay for the weekend. We hope to take a lot of cameras, a couple of video cameras, and basically have a lot of fun riding around the mountains, and hopefully get some cool footage.

Some of us will return home on Sunday, others will head out Monday morning.

I, on the other hand am forging WEST. That's right, solo I'm going to boot it through the mountains, across the province of BC to arrive in Vancouver.

Image
873 km (about 13 hours 13 mins)

Hopefully I'll get to meet up with my buddy Russ along the way, but how on earth we're going to arrange a place to meet in a town we've both never visited I have NO idea. But we will figure something out.

I plan on being there for about a week, and probably heading through calgary on the way home, it'd be neat to finally meet up with all of the Calgary folks.

So at this point I've got an open offer to anyone that'd want to meet part way, come along, or go for a ride while I'm in Vancouver or anywhere else etc etc etc. Basically if you dare meet me, let me know and we'll work something out.

One way distance aprox 1266km

That's about 100km worth of about 600km that day. You should have seen the bike at the end of it.

Sev,
Might I suggest that when you get to Olds, you head west to Highway #22, proceed south to Cochrane and take hwy #1A to Cochrane. It's more interesting than Hwy #2 and Hwy #1 and you get to avoid the Stampede city. Just be careful on #1A around the Ghost Lake area as there are a couple of tricky turns that catch a lot of riders off gaurd. I'd like to catch up to you for a short ride along the way if you are up for it on Friday night. Maybe I can even drag along Mike and Matt.... 8)

Looks like a great trip! I doubt my weekend is free enough to zip back to Seattle and head north, otherwise I might have seen about meeting up with you. We can exchange 599 high-fives.

We are all planning on taking this route already. Sev was just being lazy when he copied his google map :)
