Make a little extra cash? any ideas?

ok so i just moved to a new house and spent a lot in the move. now, my g/f has decided she wants to learn to ride, so i want her to take the MSF. it cost $200 + she will need some gear like a new helmet, gloves and a jacket (im sure she has boots of some type she can wear). all of this will cost about $600ish (if i can bargain shop) but i dont have $600 laying around (accually closer to $800 because i want a new lid as well).

i work an "office" type job, so its 8-5 M-F. i dont want to give up all my free time, i still gottta ride my own bike some. i dont want any long term comittments, i just want something i can do for a month or two to make some extra money then i can walk away from it.

anyone have any ideas on what i should look for? i can do customer relations jobs but i have a preferance toward NOT dealing with customers.

Do temp agencies place people for evening/weekend work?

if anyone has sugestions of what i might lok for that would be great. i tried a couple google searches but they all return get-rich-quick schemes, and i dont want to do that, i want an honest job making a little bit of honest money.

one thought i had was put it on no-interest (for a year) credit card, and get a second job this winter when it will be too cold to ride anyway. i can afford an extra $30 a month, i just dont have $6-800 sitting around. i know many people are absolutly against using credit cards, but i would definatly have it paid off before i paid any interest.

so confused..... being poor sucks.

Have you thought about not buying all new stuff or get something that will get you by for now?

Lets see:

- MSF $200 (can't do much about this unless you can ask if they have a special "sale" price)

- Boots (thought about steel toe construction boots? They work great and can be found cheap. I paid $45 for mine and they have lasted years)

- Helmet (You can get a Snell/DOT approved full face helmet for less than $100)

- Jacket (search eBay or go to a few thrift stores and find the thickest leather, best padded, heavily stitched jacket they got).

- Gloves (motorcycle "clearance" gloves can be as low as $10)

Cost: $375 ish.

While it isn't the "best" stuff or stuff you really are looking for it will save you from working a 2nd job till you have extra money to slowly get the stuff you really want.

bartend. i do it for 2-3 months every winter (from when deer hunting ends until the snow starts melting). it's easy, and it's cash money.

Bartend or sign on with a moving company for weekend labor would be my suggestions.

you could donate plasma. You can make 40.00 a week doing that. I used to do it in college. With plasma you can donate up to twice a week and get $20 each time.

im intrigued by bartending- how late do you usually have to work.

all the plasma places around here are sketchy "O Ring" hell, and its not worth getting AIDS or The Hep.

Do you have any skills? When I was younger I used to constantly find side work and other things to do for money... but they were almost always based on my skills/strengths... as in I did what I was good at, not what would pay $20 a pint or whatever.

There are lots of ways to make money with your skills if you are willing to hustle.

On the other side, I know people who moonlight at Best Buy, car dealerships, and the like... low skill, but an easy way to make $100/wk without any mental effort or so I guess. Not my thing so I don't know the details.

Whatever you do, don't do the credit card thing... there is good credit and bad credit... and that's an example of bad credit. Do the "scare your girlfriend's mother" thing where you say she's gonna be riding and she should have safety gear and here's a list of what she needs and if it isn't here by next Friday she's goin on the back nekkid... do the "sell sweet-n-low to forthies tellin' em it's xtal" thing... or whatever it takes... but don't do the "just one more credit card" thing. Small amounts ($800 here, $800 there) add up quickly.

depends, normally during the week i'm out between 10 and midnight. weekends, if you're closing you're there till close. i always try to work a saturday close and a sunday open, you can get out right away at close and leave all the cleaning bullshit until the next morning.

the question is though my friend, do you pimp yourself out to a thousand fat chicks for fifty bucks a piece, or to fifty really fat chicks for a thousand bucks a piece....
