They are taking a lot of liberties on this movie, some examples:

Bumblebee will be a new camaro and not a VW Bug

Optimus Prime will be a Firetruck and not a Semi with trailer

We'll see how it pans out, but it is opening on my b-day so I'll probably see it.

Prime is a firetruck? I saw a poster for the release of this movie with a rendered Prime and he looked normal in his robot form.

Looking forward to the movie but not expecting much...they tend to ruin it with new-age ideas and PC drivel (I laughed out loud in "Superman Returns" when they said "Truth, Justice, all that stuff"...surely if they said "The American Way" someone would have been offended).

Bumblebee a camaro? Ick! I wonder if the problem was with VW refusing to license it (anyway doesn't Transformers have a license on the original character?) or if GM through alot of cash at the producers for some spot advertising.

What kind of camaro is named "bumblebee?"

deep down I'm hoping that everything i'm hearing is just an elaborate cover up and them BAM, they'll reveal that everything is like the original cartoon.

But...Latest I've heard now, they posted a pic yesterday of "prime", he's a long nose black peterbuilt with red flame(eewwwee).

bumblebee's starts as a 70's camaro and is rebuilt into a concept camaro.

Megatron is going to be a tank.

Also it's looking like the main plot is about the humans, not the transformers.

There's a teaser trailer on the main transformers page but micheal bay (the no talent hack directing the movie) has said on his webpage that it has nothing to do witht the actual plot.

There is a ton of speculation about the movie, and it's all a good read but if you're anything like me, me thinks I'm going to be severely disappointed with the final result.

My inner 80s child is almost dead as a result of childhood memories being destroyed by artistic freedom in all these damn remakes. :(

Here is a video behind the set. It shows a tank, so maybe it is megatron?? http://xtramsn.co.nz/entertainment/0,,1 ... 00,00.html

I'd rather have Prime as a firetruck than the long-nose peter-built.
